POGGIO RENATICO
Yesterday morning, around 10 am, a team of the Ferrara firefighters intervened in via Chiesa in Poggio Renatico, following a request for intervention due to the illness of a man, an alert which was triggered with particular urgency due to the suspicion that the cause was attributable to a gas leak in the kitchen. According to what was later learned, the man, an 84-year-old elderly man, was at home with his wife when he felt ill. The woman therefore immediately called for help and, once they arrived on site, the 118 doctors also alerted the firefighters to intervene, sensing the smell of gas in the air and therefore hypothesizing a gas leak which could have been the cause of possible intoxication. The smell of gas, according to initial hypotheses, came from a kitchen stove but had nothing to do with the man’s illness. However, the firefighters took steps to make the house safe and ventilate the premises. The police also intervened on site. For the man, therefore, it would be a previous illness that had nothing to do with the smell of gas perceived, and he was therefore transported to hospital for further investigations of the case.
