Brescia. The city prosecutor’s office has closed the investigation into the death of Omar Khalaf, the 18-year-old of Egyptian origin, a worker in a company in Bedizzole, who lost his life after falling from the trunk of a car after spending a week in hospital. The young man was apparently the victim of a game he was playing with some friends one evening in September in via Mancino in Lonato del Garda.
He found himself sitting in the trunk, then the fall, the hit with his head on the asphalt, the hospitalization and the investigations initially hindered by a veil of silence from his friends. The only suspect is a peer and friend of the victim who was driving the vehicle which – in the event of a request for indictment – would be charged with the crime of vehicular homicide.
The investigations would be supported by images from some cameras present in the area and the testimonies of those present. According to the prosecution, the young man behind the wheel suddenly accelerated, causing poor Omar Khalaf to fall and therefore inadvertently causing his death. When the rescuers arrived, the injured man – still conscious – said he had fallen from the scooter, then unfortunately his condition worsened in hospital, until he died. And the investigations by the Desenzano Traffic Police have taken another lead.
