The first investigations carried out by the Scientific Police on the body Rita Combithe sixty-four year old who passed away on Sunday in Neptune and found lifeless on Thursday in the countryside of Latinseem to exclude the hypothesis that she was the victim of a murder.

However, only the outcome of the autopsy, scheduled for the next few hours, will be able to ascertain the causes of her death and, most likely, also how she arrived on the remote road between Borgo Bainsizza and Borgo Santa Maria, where her body was recovered. .

The corpse

The body of the sixty-four-year-old, in fact, was found in the late afternoon of April 25 on a broken road that can only be reached by traveling along a small country road which, in turn, leads to Strada Monfalcone, the main road that connects the village of Santa Maria to Montello. A somewhat difficult area to find for anyone who is not local, unknown to most except residents. So much so that when it was found there machine of the woman, not far from where her body would later be recovered, it even took the intervention of a fire brigade helicopter to precisely locate the area.

The GPS signal from the sixty-four-year-old’s car directed the officers of the police squad and, shortly afterwards, the firefighters and civil protection volunteers of the Passo Genovese group, after a resident had noticed her Lancia Musa at the end of the dirt road . However, for the woman it was already too late, having been dead for several hours, perhaps even days.

The alarm about her disappearance, in fact, was raised on Sunday by her husbandwith the tom-tom that started on social media which had led to the case also being covered in the program “Chi l’ha visto”, broadcast on Rai 3. A rather singular disappearance given that, shortly before his traces were lost, the woman had just returned to her home in Nettuno after shopping at the supermarket, as evidenced by the plastic bags hastily left together with the bag, containing the mobile phone but above all the medicines for diabetes, from which she suffered.

The questions

What could have happened to leave everything on the table and walk away in such a hurry? So much so that he forgot the drugs needed for his insulin therapy? It is these questions that the investigators will have to answer, with the body made available to the judicial authority to proceed with the autopsy, scheduled in the next few hours.

However, the first investigations carried out on site by the forensic police seem to have dropped the suggestion of a violent death, while that of a possible illness, perhaps caused precisely by the failure to take medicine for diabetes, seems to be gaining ground. A road that would also explain how the woman ended up in the Pontine countryside, given that the loss of a sense of direction is among the typical consequences of a lack of insulin.
