The docufilm “In the beginning was the song”, which celebrates the timeless beauty of Capo Palinuro with the emotional voice of Katia Ricciarelli, wins the Earth Day 2024 Award at the Cefalù Film Festival.
Masterfully written and directed by Flavio Pagano, the docufilm transports viewers on a journey through the magnificence of the Cilento coast, highlighting its rich history, its timeless charm and its pristine beauty. Alongside the famous soprano Katia Ricciarelli, the film boasts the participation of the musicians Luca Aquino and Espedito De Marino, together with the very young Mario Sansiviero. Made thanks to the resourcefulness of the Pro Loco of Palinuro, led with passion by Silvano Cerulli, and the financial support of the I Porti di Velia FLAG, competently directed by Carmine Farnetano, the docufilm was shot in July 2023 in Palinuro, cradle of art, myth and poetry.

With a compelling narrative and breathtaking images, director Flavio Pagano has managed to capture the soul of the Cilento coast, offering an intimate and passionate look at its history, its culture and its uncontaminated nature. The participation of the famous soprano Katia Ricciarelli, together with the talented musicians Luca Aquino and Espedito De Marino, further enriched the sensorial experience of the audience, transmitting a sense of wonder and admiration for the artistic and naturalistic heritage of Palinuro.
