Tomorrow it will take place in the woods of Casaboliin the Monrealese hamlet of Pioppo, the third exercise joint forces of Civil protection dedicated to forest and interface fire prevention. The same activities have already taken place in recent days in the provinces of Catania and Messina. This was announced by the Regional Department of Sicilian Civil Protection, underlining in a note that “the aim of these exercises is to test in the field the level of training and operation achieved by the specialized volunteers in the Aib and, at the same time, also to encourage a common line of conduct between all the operational bodies involved in the various activities of forecasting, combating and managing emergencies related to fire risk: Forestry Corps of the Sicily Region, Fire Brigade, Regional Department of Sicilian Civil Protection”.
“This one in Palermo – continues the note – is the last of the three planned joint exercises and for its conduct the Casaboli forest above the hamlet of Pippo in the municipality of Monreale was identified. The site is suitable for carrying out training activities on techniques for combating forest fires, but also for interface fires, given the presence of buildings near which it is possible to simulate such scenarios. The event will start at nine in the morning and end at 5pm. The teams of the fire brigade and Forest they will lead the fire tests of the volunteers (about 200) coming from Palermo, Agrigento and Trapani. At the end, a final briefing will be held to which mayors, administrators and technicians from local authorities have been invited.
