Excited moments this afternoon in the Ionian town

S. TERESA – The intervention of some residents and a fire brigade team, coming from the Letojanni detachment, prevented the flames that broke out this afternoon in a house in via Savoca from spreading further, with much greater damage and risks compared to what happened. The alarm went off around 3pm, when some people noticed that smoke was coming from a house in via Savoca, in the Cantidati neighbourhood.

The carabinieri from the Radiomobile Unit of the Taormina Company and an ambulance from 118 arrived on the scene. The fear was that there were people inside the house. For this reason, the soldiers entered the ground floor, searched the various rooms and made sure they were empty. In the meantime, the Letojanni firefighters also arrived on site and worked to put out the flames.
