A 21 year old girl he risked his life after drinking a coffee from the vending machine at the airport: yes, because when she drank it she didn’t realize that there were any inside the drink insects. It happened last Monday in Spain, at Palma de Mallorca airport: the girl works for an airline and was having a coffee break with some colleagues when she ordered the offending product from the machine.
The local newspaper Last Hour he said the girl immediately noticed that the drink had a strange taste. When she looked carefully inside the cup, she noticed the presence of some insects but, even before realizing the shock, her face started to swell and she had difficulty breathing. The colleagues who were with her notified the airport medical services and the girl was taken away urgently. At the hospital they diagnosed her with one anaphylactic shock and was hospitalized for 36 hours in intensive care. Now the girl has been discharged and returned home.
The parents immediately filed a complaint against the airport at Balearic National Police, which started the investigation, stating that the presence of insects in coffee can be considered a crime against public health. The distributor was put out of use, also because it was located in an area where everyone could use it. The complaint states that the distributor was “clearly poorly maintained by staff”. The management of Palma de Mallorca airport has also taken steps to ensure that an event like this never happens again.
