OSTUNI – There were moments of apprehension for a young motorcyclist involved in an accident which occurred around 11 am today (Friday 26 April) on the provincial road that connects Ostuni to Francavilla Fontana, towards Francavilla. This is a boy who was driving a Liberty scooter. The vehicle, for reasons to be ascertained, collided with a Ford Fiesta that was in front of it. The impact occurred near the turn into the Lamacoppa district, in the Città Bianca countryside.
Two 118 ambulances and the Local Police of Ostuni went to the scene. The road was blocked, causing inevitable traffic disruption. The young motorcyclist was transported to hospital under yellow code. The driver, however, was unharmed.
The petrol leak made it necessary for the firefighters to intervene to make the roadway safe. The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
