Lucille Ball, the first true queen of American TV, died on April 26, 1989. After years of decent apprenticeship in the cinema, her glory came in 1951 with the sitcom Lucy and I, where she acted together with her husband in her life, Desi Arnaz. Before divorcing, the couple had two children and became one of the great names of stars and stripes showbiz. Together they also founded the Desilu production company, of which, in the 1960s, Ball became president, the first woman to manage a large studio in Hollywood. In 1984, she was one of the names inducted into the newly created Television Hall of Fame. Bill Cosby was once on the list of small screen stars, but his name has been deleted. Actor, comedian, producer, he achieved enormous success with the sitcom The Robinsons, earning the affection of the public, who christened him “America’s Dad”. After years of accusations from dozens of women, on April 26, 2018 he was convicted of sexual assault. But the verdict was overturned in 2021.
