API, new system for detecting fires

A coordination meeting took place last Thursday at the headquarters of the Prefecture of Ancona for the construction of a fire detection system, aimed at automatically stopping the movement of trains inside the Api refinery in Falconara. A system is currently in operation in the plant, unique in Italy, which allows the manual stopping of railway traffic. As we read in the note issued by Government Palace, “the initiative examined aims to create an automatic alarm detection and sending tool, with safe stopping of railway circulation in the event of emergency situations within the refinery, in in line with the requirements expressed by the National Agency for the Safety of Railways and Road and Motorway Infrastructures (Ansfisa)”. According to what emerged, “the innovative system constitutes a cutting-edge safety measure in Italy and, with its implementation, the external emergency plan of the Api refinery plant will be updated – at the Coordination Table of the Prefecture” , they concluded from the Doric Prefecture.
