As part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the Vendicari Oasis, the Syracuse Section of Italia Nostra proposes the Round Table: “Half a century ago the future of the Val di Noto risked being overturned” and the presentation of the volume: “The missed disaster of Vendicari and Marzamemi”, by Corrado Bonfanti and Salvo Sorbello, during a meeting that will take place Saturday 27 April, at 10:00 amat the “Marianelli” room in the “Marianelli” district, in the Vendicari Oasis.
Prof. Liliana Gissara, President of the Siracusa Section and National Councilor of Italia Nostra, will introduce it.

Confindustria Siracusa, the lawyer. Corrado Giuliano, of Italia Nostra, prof. Giuseppe Iuvara, vice president of the ISVNA (Institute for the Study and Valorization of Noto and its Antiquities), Dr. Rosario Acquaviva, founder of the Buscemi Ecomuseum “The places of peasant work”, Dr. Michele Modica – head of the “Tonnara di Vendicari” Museum, Dr. Corrado Armeri – Editore Mediterraneo News and the authors of the volume: Dr. Corrado Bonfanti, former Mayor of Noto, committed to enhancing the UNESCO Heritage of Val di Noto and Dr. Salvo Sorbello, journalist and essayist, councilor of Italia Nostra Siracusa – former municipal administrator, organizer of campaigns for the protection of the environment
and Cultural Heritage.
The lawyer will also take part in the round table. Antonio Rappazzo, who at the time of the events relating to the possible establishment of the refinery in Vendicari, was the Mayor of Noto, in whose territory the nature reserve falls.
