Celebrations in Rieti for April 25th, Italian Liberation Day from Nazi-Fascism. On the 79th anniversary, reflection in the park dedicated to the partisan Gunnella in Campoloniano, via Cipriani. Event promoted by Anpi Rieti, with the participation of the Municipality of Rieti, associations and various institutions of the city, including the Prefect.
«Liberation Day is the celebration of all Italians who come together to celebrate their regained freedom, of those who fight against all totalitarianism, of those who defend human rights, of those who believe in the values of the homeland and the Constitution. At the Fosse Ardeatine, together with the vice-president of the Council Antonio Tajani and the other civil and military authorities, we paid homage to the 335 innocent victims of a barbarism that must never return.” So in a note Luisa Regiments, Councilor for Personnel, Urban Security, Local Police, Local Authorities and the University of the Lazio Region. «The time has come that April 25th is no longer a moment of division for the country but of unity and sharing, a day of reconciliation between winners and losers without timeless exploitation. We remember with gratitude the effort of our fathers and grandfathers who fought to build a free and democratic Italy, inserted in the context of free European nations, promoting the values of peace and dialogue. Let us work to find ourselves united in these values and definitively leave behind the season of hatred, violence and opposition”, concludes Councilor Regimenti.
