NORCIA – Earthquake, pandemic, reconstruction, depopulation, free zone. These are all words that perhaps the FIGC CRU managers do not know when talking about the case of Norcia 480, which, as is known, won the Provincial Under 15 championship undefeated and with record numbers, but which according to the regulations will not be promoted in the Regional A2 championship. Vallembrasport.it has already dealt with the case but this time it is one of those directly involved who is speaking, who sent a letter to the Director Daniele Minni.

Good evening Director,

I am Domenico Rossi of ASD Norica 480, coach, for the current season, of the very young Provincials of our club. I take the liberty of writing to you after reading the article on Valleumbrasport relating to the non-admission of our very young team to the next regional Giovanissimi championship. I would like to thank you for the words you have reserved for us both as a team and as a company and therefore as a city.

Unfortunately, knowing the FIGC system at all levels, I think that for this year there is little that can be done because the regulations are clear, but this does not mean that we cannot try, with the help of the media, to make the Committee think Regional.

Our team, in addition to having achieved first place in the general classification, also boasted another first place, namely that of the discipline cup, the result of what I would say was an exemplary behavior of the boys.

But this is evidently not enough, even if scores are foreseen for this, as the failure occurs upstream.

At this point I would like to bring to your attention what is specified in the CRU press release no. 69 of 11/18/2023 relating to the regulation of preclusions (press release which I attach to this document) which states the following:

PRECLUSION FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS OF BOTH CATEGORIES

1) Failure to participate in the 2023/2024 sports season in championships or tournaments organized by the FIGC in the Students, Very Young, Beginners and Chicks categories without prejudice to the specific regional needs for each category.

This last note should allow the regional committees, where companies that are part of organizations with catchment areas that are not as numerous and logistically disadvantaged as ours operate, to change the regulation by adapting it to their own realities. Evidently in our committee there is no such sensitivity that small businesses will never be able to have glory, but will have to adapt to acting as sparring partners for those that don’t have these problems. Just think of our group made up of 11 teams, 5 of which, not having the student category, were penalized.

You can well understand how unfair this situation is towards young people who have given everything to achieve the set goal. Next year, if we find ourselves in the same situation, what will I have to say to my boys “it’s pointless if we fight so much, we won’t have any satisfaction other than doing what we love”.

Removing the possibility of reaching a goal takes away the salt of sport!!!

I hope I haven’t been intrusive, and have attracted your attention. Thank you on behalf of myself and the entire ASD Norica 480 Society

I wish you a good evening

Domenico Rossi

Coach with UEFA B qualification matr. 88655
