Rodolfo Cinaglia

Rodolfo Cinaglia, the 64-year-old from Montefranco (Terni) who was involved in a serious road accident on 22 February in Viale Brin in Terni, died on Wednesday at the ‘Torrette’ hospital in Ancona: the head-on collision between his Fiat Punto and a Fiat Ducato which was proceeding in the opposite direction. After the terrible crash, the man – conscious – was transported to the ‘Santa Maria’ hospital in Terni and operated there and hospitalized with a reserved prognosis due to the seriousness of his condition. As the days passed, the picture had significantly improved, so much so that the doctors had decided to discontinue the prognosis. Then the transfer to the hospital in the capital of the Marche to continue the treatments. Unfortunately, however, the 64-year-old from Montefranco was unable to overcome this difficult period and two months after the accident in Viale Brin, he passed away. The investigations into the incident were conducted by the staff of the accident office of the Terni Local Police, with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Regarding the accident, which occurred on February 22nd shortly before 1pm near the steelworks, Cinaglia’s car, which was proceeding towards the centre, had completely invaded the other carriageway – as also demonstrated by the images acquired by the officers of the Corso command del Popolo -, without any attempt (in terms of possible braking or slowing down) to avoid the impact with the Fiat Ducato which was heading towards Valnerina. A dynamic that also suggests a possible illness that could have struck the 64-year-old in those circumstances. Following the accident, the driver of the work vehicle (the 59-year-old SF from Terni) also ended up in hospital, but with injuries – fortunately – less serious than the one who, despite treatment and interventions, later lost his life.
