Rider threatened with death and hit while reversing in Milan

A rider was attacked on the street by a motorist who, after insulting him with racist epithets, tried to ram him. He then got out of the car and attempted a physical confrontation with the worker. Subsequently, still not satisfied, he threatened her with death and hit her while reversing with the car. This is the complaint – accompanied by a video showing the final stages of the attack – made by Usb Lombardia of what happened to one of its members. The attack – according to what was disclosed – occurred on the morning of April 11th in via Comasina, on the outskirts of Milan, while the rider was making a delivery for Just Eat. The man suffered various injuries, as well as the breaking of the bicycle he uses to work. “The dangers for the safety of riders are multiple and increasingly exasperated – comments Usb – by policies that legitimize violence and abuse against the same subjects, poor and foreigners”. For this reason “we will be tomorrow 25 April in Piazza Duomo at 1.30pm alongside Palestine and all the peoples in struggle, outside the institutional procession where those responsible for the policies that created the conditions in which events like this one on 11 April can happen.”
