MANDATORICCIO (CS) – After the fire that devastated the post offices of Mandatoriccio, the community found itself faced with a logistical need that put its inhabitants, in particular, to the test elderly and pensioners, forced to move to pay their pensions. However, thanks to the incisive interest of Senator Ernesto Rapani, requested by the mayor Vincenzo Aldo Grispino, a temporary solution was put in place to guarantee an essential service to the population.
«I got in touch with Italian post – declared the senator – and I thank you for the speed with which they responded to our request. We cannot allow the citizens of Mandatoriccio to be deprived of the postal service for long periods, especially considering the importance it has for many people, especially the elderly.”
The urgency was tangible, with beyond three months have passed since the fire with no definitive solution in sight. Poste Italiane responded promptly to the appeal, committing to install a temporary container within 15 days of the start of negotiations. «It is important to underline that it is one temporary solution. The objective is to find a permanent location for the post office, avoiding employees having to work in sub-optimal conditions.”
In this sense, both Senator Rapani and Mayor Grispino have committed to collaborating with Poste Italiane to find a permanent solution as soon as possible. «It is clear that Poste Italiane does not intend to keep the post office inside a container and we will do everything possible to provide them with an adequate and functional location».

Senator Rapani, taking the opportunity, wanted to highlight this broader perspective. «The fire at the Mandatoriccio post office was a dramatic event – said Rapani – but it is important to look beyond the event itself and consider the broader context. The post office fire was just one of the episodes that highlighted the need for a broader reorganization of the police force.”
