Serious train accident in Cologne, in the province of Brescia. Around 11pm on Tuesday 23 April, at a level crossing located in via Peschiera, a car was hit by a passenger convoy for reasons still under investigation.

Immediately after the accident, three fire brigade teams responded to the scene. The operators made the area safe and the car was subsequently disengaged from the train. Unfortunately, the lifeless body of a woman was recovered from the wreckage of the car.
The passengers on board the convoy and the driver were unharmed. Further investigations are currently underway to determine the exact causes of the accident.
Rescue operations continued until the early hours of the morning.
