I have a house that we renovated 9 years ago, it belonged to my parents who are no longer with us, in via Cocchi in Villanova di Bagnacavallo, now my sister lives there. In May we had two floods, on 3 and 15 May, I would say absurd: water, water and more water. We lost objects, appliances, furniture, memories, yes, the memories of my parents who left us and in addition to this photos, memories and other things that you keep in the drawer and now they are no longer there. Hallucinating. Walls still wet after a year, humidity and more. My sister was out for over a month, I saw desperate people who lost everything, and we too lost a lot, with inestimable damage. And then the promise “you will not be alone”. Yes, we are alone. Water is still scary when it falls from the sky, or rather, terror. The first time the car was saved by my neighbor, water over 40 cm in the house. System, restore, protect, and then? What you no longer expect: water, on May 15th more water (better to say mud), this time over a meter inside the house. Absurd, we didn’t want to believe it, like another KO! From what we had before….thrown it all away. Cries, emotion and then the promises: we were left alone. Villanova di Bagnacavallo will always remember, I will always remember this catastrophe.
