A very heavy toll with one death, two injured, one of which was serious from the accident which occurred today, Tuesday 23 April 2024, in Monticello Conte Otto. The victim is Debora Bortoloso, 39 years old, from Zugliano, a town that was facing another loss caused by asphalt. She was traveling in the passenger seat.
It happened at 1.35pm and caused the injury of NDV, a 45-year-old also from Zugliano, who was driving a Lancia Y and was traveling along via Chiesa towards Vicenza, when, having reached number 4, due to during the investigation, he collided with the Opel Insigna car which was coming from the opposite direction. Two medical ambulances 118 arrived on site: the rescuers were only able to ascertain the death of the passenger of the Lancia Dueville, at the Vicenza emergency room under code yellow.
On site, three patrols from the North East Vicenza Local Police and a team from the Vicenza Fire Brigade.
Together with the driver who was slightly injured, two small children were on board in the Opel Insigna, who fortunately remained unharmed in the collision.
The Vicenza Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed of the facts and opened an investigation to shed full light on the accident and understand the causes of the crash. Too early to risk a cause and a reconstruction. It is a moment of silence and pain for this drama that has hit the Upper Vicenza area. Yet another caused by the road.
Another pain for Zugliano
A horrible time for Zugliano who just last week said his final farewell to Manuel Gavin, 45, victim of the accident which occurred on April 5th in via delle Garziere. The country is still shaken by this tragedy that occurred one night and took away a generous and exuberant man. A family man who left two children aged 5 and 8 orphaned, who had every right to grow up next to an exemplary father like Manuel, who was attached to them and to his partner Elisa. After crying over Manuel’s passing, the inhabitants of Zugliano have a fixed thought for this family who cannot be left alone in such a dramatic and delicate moment.
