Fuel prices are rising again, despite the drop in oil prices, which have fallen well below $90 a barrel. An increase that is recorded on the eve of the departures of Italians for the spring long weekends and which will increase citizens’ spending on supplies. This is reported by Codacons, which also reports that only in one Italian region does the average price of petrol at self-service outlets remain below the threshold of 1.9 euros per litre.
The prices at the fuel pump record new increases in view of the long weekends of April 25th and May 1st, when millions of Italians will travel by car for trips out of town or to spend a few days of vacation – explains Codacons – An increase that will weigh on their pockets of Italians and will make car journeys more expensive: compared to the beginning of the year, a liter of greenery now costs on average 8.2% more, with an increase in spending equal to +7.3 euros at full capacity.
Analyzing the price trend in the area through the updated data provided by Mimit, we discover that only in one Italian region, the Marche, is petrol sold today at self-service shops at an average price of less than 1.9 euros per liter (1.898 euros /litre) – adds Codacons – The province of Bolzano is the one with the highest price lists, with an average of 1,960 euros/litre for green, followed by the Valle d’Aosta region (1,950 euros/litre) and Calabria ( 1,949). On the motorway, again according to Mimit data, the average price of petrol at the self-service station exceeds 2 euros per litre, and stands at 2.003 euros, diesel at 1.912 euros/litre.
