Everything as expected. Luisa Piacentini, Fratelli d’Italia, was elected on Friday as president of the Cal Board of Directors, The Council of Autonomies of Lazio. He obtained 33 votes out of 34 in the second vote (one invalid ballot) at the end of the installation session which, chaired by the president of the Lazio Regional Council, also elected the members of the presidency of the new council. At the first vote, the municipal councilor of Marano Equo, in the province of Rome, member of the board of directors of Anci Lazio and vice president in the last council meeting, stopped at 20 votes (the quorum was 21, the absolute majority of the Assembly) . They were then elected the two vice-presidents of the Assembly, Giammarco Florenzani and Pietro Nocchi.

The first, city councilor of Torricein the province of Frosinone, obtained 17 votes, while Nocchi, mayor of Capranica (Viterbo), obtained 14. The assembly completed the composition of the new bureau by voting the three secretarial councilors. They were elected: Vincenzo La Pegna, municipal councilor of Aprilia, with 13 votes; Aura Contarino, municipal councilor of Cisterna di Latina, with 8 votes; Marco Benedetti, mayor of Mentana (RM), also with 8 votes. The new bureau has respected the provisions of article 5, paragraph 3, of regional law no. 1/2007, according to which “a balanced presence of both genders is guaranteed, as well as the representation of non-capital municipalities”.

The Decree of the President of the Lazio Region for the establishment and appointment of the members of the Cal was published last 19 March in the official Bulletin number 23 of the Lazio Region, also including the names of the members of the Assembly. The Council of local autonomies, established within the Regional Council in implementation of article 123, fourth paragraph, of the Constitution and articles 66 and 67 of the Statute, is an institutional representative body of the system of local autonomies in Lazio as well as consultation, coordination and coordination between the Region and local authorities, to guarantee compliance with the constitutional and statutory principles of subsidiarity, differentiation and adequacy, and the effective participation of local authorities in the Region’s decision-making processes which impact the interests of the territories and local communities. The Cal, therefore, represents the institutional headquarters within which local authorities are called to take common positions regarding the choices of plegislative and territorial and economic-social planning policies that involve them or that in any case relate to their interests.
