PEGOGNAGA (Mantua) – The impact was violent and the consequences were fatal for a couple of friends. They were 73 and eighty years old Fiorella Bonatti and Luciana Busana. They were returning from an evening spent playing burraco in company, in San Giacomo delle Segnate, in the Mantua area. The accident occurred during the return home, just before one o’clock, in Pegognaga, at the intersection of provincial road 49 and Strada del Vò. The two women were on board a Suzuki Alto which collided with a BMW driven by a 20-year-old resident in the province of Mantua and who suffered no consequences in the impact.
According to an initial reconstruction, the small car would have been hit squarely by the other car. The intervention of the firefighters was necessary to free the two women from the sheets of metal. While the driver died instantly, the emergency services sent to the scene by 118 did everything to save the passenger’s life, but she died shortly after.
Fiorella Bonatti, 73 years old, lived in Suzzara where she was known for her commitment to volunteering, she was a widow and leaves two children aged 49 and 51.
