Born in ’91, Feliciani, chosen by Rocchi for Genoa-Lazio, began refereeing in 2006 and arrived in the Serie D championship in 2014. He was promoted to Lega Pro in 2015 while his debut in the top flight came on 5 November 2022 in the match between Empoli and Sassuolo (1-0 for the Tuscans). He had already refereed 10 Serie A matches this season (Roma-Salernitana 2-2, Atalanta-Cagliari 2-0, Turin-Verona 0-0, Juventus-Verona 1-0, Atalanta-Salernitana 4-1, Lazio-Frosinone 3-1, Empoli-Genoa 0-0, Fiorentina-Frosinone 5-1, Genoa-Monza 2-3) and 4 in Serie B (Lecco-Catanzaro 3-4, Feralpisalò-Cittadella 0-1, Sampdoria-Parma 0-3, Lecco-Como 0-3, Bologna- Salernitana 3-0). Let’s see how he fared yesterday at Marassi.

Feliciani’s history with Genoa and Lazio

It was Feliciani’s second encounter with the Biancocelesti after the home victory over Frosinone last December, fourth instead with the Rossoblù: the balance was one draw and two defeats.

The referee cautioned three players

Assisted by assistants Zingarelli and Scarpa with 4th Officer Marinelli, at VAR Abisso and AVAR La Pennathe referee cautioned three players, two of which were Biancocelesti: Casale (L), Cataldi (L), Vogliacco (G)

Genoa-Lazio, slow motion cases

These are the dubious episodes. In the 16th minute Casale hits his opponent and deservedly receives a yellow card after a bad tackle. In the 66th minute Luis Alberto’s goal was regular but his celebration was singular: “Thank you for waiting for me”. These are the words that the playmaker said to Pedro immediately after scoring the goal that made the momentary 0-1. The former Barcelona player was about to take the Magician’s place on the pitch. In the 85th minute there was chaos in Lazio’s penalty area: Feliciani let it continue before reporting the foul on Mandas. In the 86th minute Cataldi was booked for protests and a minute later Vogliacco was also booked (from the bench), again for protests. Overall, Feliciani, who perhaps could have booked a few more players given that the match became more foul from the start of the second half, still kept Genoa-Lazio in his grasp.
