Legacoop Romagna’s short film “Pain and the strength of cooperation”, filmed during the floods of May 2023, it was screened in recent days in Rome, where it was among the finalists of the national award “Film Impresa”, in the documentary area.

From the stage of the Casa del Cinema of Villa Borghese, where the screening of the nominated works took place, the president of Legacoop Romagna, Paolo Lucchi, recalled the economic consequences of the terrible climate eventbut also the reaction capacity shown in those days by businesses and the population.

“The video — explains Lucchi — was created in the days immediately following the catastrophe and is dedicated to all the people of Romagna who were affected. It is only thanks to their spirit of cooperation and their ability to come together in difficulties that the reconstruction began in those days, in the midst of water and mud. The examples of concrete solidarity that we have experienced have demonstrated that only by proceeding together and helping each other, as we usually do in Romagna, will we be able to face the great changes that await us. We are grateful to the Film Impresa Award for giving us the opportunity to present the short film to such an important audience.”

The event organized by Unindustria in Rome on 9, 10 and 11 April recorded a notable public presence, with over 700 attendees, and was accompanied by the participation of top-level personalities such as Gabriele Salvatores, Ferzan Ozpetek and Francesca Archibugi.

The next screening of “Pain and the strength of Cooperation” is scheduled for May 3rd in Ravenna, on the occasion of the event that Legacoop Romagna is organizing one year after the flood. Among others, the president of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, the regional councilor Irene Priolo, the president of the national Legacoop, Simone Gamberini, the Mayor of Ravenna, Michele de Pascale, the Mayor of Cesena, Enzo Lattuca, and the prefect of Ravenna, Castrese De Rosa.
