A regional exercise on combating forest and interface fires in the province of Messina and, in particular, in the territory of the municipalities of Alcara Li Fusi and Longi. It was planned by the regional department of the Sicilian Civil Protection, in conjunction with the Command of the Forestry Corps of the Sicilian Region and the Regional Directorate of the Sicilian Fire Brigade, as part of the forecasting, prevention and management of emergencies related to fire risk. . The exercise will take place tomorrow and the commitment of DRPC staff and volunteers is expected to organize the camp and exercise areas starting today. The exercise involves the participation of voluntary organizations also from the provinces of Enna and Caltanissetta. The Municipality of Alcara Li Fusi has made Piazza Alcide De Gasperi available for the setting up of the storage area in which to converge the vehicles of the volunteers engaged in the exercise activities, as well as, thanks to the contribution of the Curia, the Sant’Elia church for the initial briefing and the final debriefing.
The exercise includes three exercise scenarios: a forest fire, an interface fire and a fire in a livestock farm with the evacuation of the animals.
