L’car of service of minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratinwas destroyed Thursday evening in a accident on theA1 motorway near Cassino, in the direction of Rome, where his son was injured spokesman, Emanuele Raco. The minister was not in the vehicle.

The road accident in which the official car of Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin was destroyed occurred around 9pm on Thursday 18 April and, as reported by the ‘ANSA’ agency, involved two other vehicles. The dynamics are yet to be ascertained. The Traffic Police intervened on the spot.

The company car, a hybrid Lexus, had brought the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security to Naples airport late on Thursday afternoon, after Gilberto Pichetto Fratin’s participation in the Euro-Mediterranean Festival. The minister had boarded a flight to Milan, while the driver and the spokesperson had left by car for Rome. At Cassino, around 9pm, they had an accident.

How is Pichetto Fratin’s spokesperson

Emanuele Raco, spokesperson for minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, reported light bruises in the accident which occurred near Cassino on the A1 motorway. The driver (a carabiniere) was unharmed. ANSA learned this from ministry sources.

Both the minister’s spokesperson and the policeman behind the wheel of the Lexus were taken to hospital for checks. After the ritual visits, Emanuele Raco and the driver were discharged during the night and returned to Rome. The people in the other cars involved in the accident were uninjured.
