More tension in the skies of the Middle East. Shortly before dawn on Friday, Israel attacked the air base in Isfahan, Iran. The base would be the same from which, last Saturday, Iranian drones and missiles launched towards Israel.

The Israeli attack would have been repelled by Iran, which would have shot down all the drones. According to sources in Tehran, in fact, there was no significant damage, only some broken glass.

Iranian airspace remained closed for several hours. Warning sirens also sounded in Syria, Lebanon and northern Israel.

The United States would have been warned by Israel before the attack, emphasizing that the target would be military and that no nuclear sites would be hit.

Various US geopolitical analysts have explained that this limited attack is a sort of de-escalation compared to the one on Damascus and that Iran, therefore, may not respond.

The launch of Israeli drones on Friday could also be a symbolic message to Tehran and not a coincidence: it is in fact the birthday of Supreme Leader Khamenei, born on 19 April 1939.
