Ginosa. There are 11 doctors under investigation for the death of gynosine Monica Bongallino, who died on March 28 at the Santissima Annunziata hospital a few days after having carried out a spirometry in a health facility in the province of Taranto.
Tomorrow the task of carrying out the autopsy will be entrusted to the medical examiner Alberto Tortorella, delegated by prosecutor Marzia Castiglia.
After the spirometry, Monica had felt the first illness with retching and the situation had worsened to the point that it was necessary to transfer the woman to the hospital in Taranto where she was admitted to intensive care.
For the patient, however, there was nothing that could be done.
The Taranto prosecutor’s office opened an investigation following the complaint presented by the family, assisted by the lawyer Raffaele Errico.
The doctors under investigation are those involved in the phases preceding the death.
