«Some criminals have been setting fire to special waste, waste from construction work, for decades. For months he accumulates waste and then, in the night, he sets it on fire. The problem is certainly not new. Last September another fire in the Nocione area, with the intervention of firefighters and environmentalists. And in the previous year as many as ten fires were reported. The fire apparently broke out a few meters from the piles of medical waste.
The fire in that case too, last September, was set in several places, some of which did not catch fire. With other special waste ready to be disposed of illegally but found to be intact. “We need to intervene before it happens again” they declared from the ANSMI, on the sidelines of one of the interventions which lasted hours, with the firefighters working hard to put out the flames. But the important action carried out in the area did not serve as a deterrent.
