Artificial intelligence revolutionizes the gas network in Mantua

MANTOVA – Artificial intelligence, its use, real and potential impacts on daily life: they were at the center of the meeting held this afternoon at Bibiena. “The shape of the Future”: this is the title of the event organized by Tea Ammagamma Part of Accenture.

“We try to make our network intelligent, which distributes gas to the citizens of Mantua for 50% of the province with 10 concessions, we have the ambition to make it intelligent, smart and efficient – explains Massimiliano Fontanesi, SEI’s gas distribution manager – and this thanks to the collaboration with Automa”.

“Until now we have been busy developing devices that could help make these networks intelligent, but today we realized that more was needed, and here artificial intelligence comes into play – he explains Alessandra Bruni, Customer Service Director of Automa – so we took an extra step to optimize the system and management”
“We helped Sei to identify the most suitable architecture to host the services that will be set up, we will work behind the scenes – explains Christian Bassi, innovation and Cloud manager of the Tea group – to facilitate the management of this change”.
Timings? “They are immediate – says Fontanesi – we put down the timetable that was already set in the race and therefore the first installations will begin from mid-Junethe project will last three years and all the tools will be put in place by 2027.”
But what will be the benefits for citizens?
“THE advantages are operational for the distributor, there will be savings in electricity which is now consumed to cathodically protect the pipes, we will save on odorants avoiding unnecessary overdoses and on safety, the workers will be employed in other sectors, thanks to remote monitoring. Don’t forget the lower greenhouse gas emissions which is fundamental for a town like ours.”
