MESSINA – The mayor of Messina Federico Basile and the councilor with responsibility for Civil Protection Massimiliano Minutoli have announced that by May 7th it will be possible to submit requests to obtain contributions following the calamitous events that occurred during the summer of 2023.

The notice from the municipal administration follows the order of the Head of the Regional Civil Protection Department, dated 13 March 2024, which concerns the “First urgent civil protection interventions as a consequence of the serious fires and the exceptional heat wave” which have affected the Provinces of Catania, Messina, Palermo and Trapani starting from 23 July 2023.

Citizens and owners of economic and productive activities affected by disasters can benefit from contributions. Interested parties must complete form B1 if they are private individuals, while form C1 is intended for economic activities. The forms must be sent to [email protected] by 7 May 2024.

Forms B1 and C1 are available for download on the institutional website of the Municipality of Messina at the following link: comune.messina.it/it/civil-defence-information. As the deadline approached, the population and economic operators concerned were invited to promptly submit their requests in order to benefit from the contributions provided following the calamitous events of last year.
