Antoniozzi: next Sunday 21 April will be the first anniversary of the killing of the psychiatrist Barbara Capovani in Pisa for which Mr. Gianluca Paul Seung is accused. I hope justice is done
This was stated by the deputy group leader of the Brothers of Italy in the Chamber, Alfredo Antoniozzi, presenter of the bill to amend articles 88 and 89 of the penal code which regulate mental infirmity and semi-infirmity.
I followed the legal case at the beginning and then I didn’t deal with it anymore – adds Antoniozzi – because I have faith in the judiciary.
I believe that Mr. Seung is not “crazy” – continues Antoniozzi – just as those who have personality disorders or mood disorders with psychotic transitions are not crazy, as great psychiatrists such as Andrea Balbi, Giuseppe Nicolò who oversaw the new edition of the DSM, Donatella Marazziti, Stefano Castagnoli, Gianni Giuli, Pietro Ciliberti.
My region, Calabria – continues Antoniozzi – is one of those that record the highest rate of attacks on doctors and this is not good at all. We must increase checks and security in hospitals
I have faith in the judiciary and I hope that my law will be approved as soon as possible: when it happens – concludes Antoniozzi – we will also dedicate it to Dr. Capovani.
