What is he doing among hunters, fishermen and mushrooms?

BELLUNO – The little ones are the protagonists at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti. And their ability to imagine and fantasize, with their feet firmly planted on the ground, in the reality of the Belluno area. Indeed, in the biodiversity of the Belluno area. Yesterday in fact “Hunting, fishing, nature” saw the awards ceremony for the “Adopt a watercourse, adopt a fish” competition, organized by the Fantastiche Dolomiti Foundation and the Federation of Fishing Basins of the province of Belluno.

THE RACE

A second edition that began by bringing environmental training and education to schools. The fishermen explained to the very young people how theriver habitat and what life forms are inside. And then they left blank paper to the children, asking them to draw. Hundreds of entries arrived at the fair and were displayed during the “Hunting, fishing, nature” days, to be voted on by visitors. The most “popular” drawing was that of Bianca Campigotto, by Lamon. Behind her, Gemma Fiori from Calalzo and Kile Vascellari from Calalzo with a message written in large letters on the piece (“Don’t pollute, please: the animals are suffering”). Fourth was the drawing by Moira Pante from Sovramonte, fifth was that of Lisabeth Parodi from Auronzo.

THE GREETING

They also stopped by the fair yesterday Mauro Corona And Cristina Amirante, regional councilor for infrastructure and territory of Friuli Venezia Giulia. «This is a traditional fair, but which every year manages to implement various moments of advanced training and updating» said Amirante. Among the pavilions also Mauro Corona, frequenter of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, who attracted a crowd rain of selfies and photos.

BETWEEN THE STANDS

Yesterday “Hunting, fishing, nature” launched a new service for all hunting enthusiasts. In collaboration with the Perarolo di Cadore shooting range, hunters who visited the stands of some well-known gun manufacturers were asked to test the rifle before purchasing. A shuttle has been made available by the fair to take hunters to shoot at the range, in complete safety. The service will be implemented next year, given the high acceptance by enthusiasts.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP

To enrich the fair’s offer, and to arouse the curiosity of adults and children alike, the 20th National Taxidermy Championship, which brought to “Hunting, Fishing, Nature” dozens of splendid specimens of stuffed animals, the work of the most famous taxidermist masters in Italy. The national championship, with international judge the Dutchman John Wesley Kevenaar, was won by Paolo Zanandrea’s Turkish fistione in the large birds category, followed by Piero Della Libera and Manuel Bianchi. First prize to Manuel Bianchi in the small mammals (with a fox) and trophies category. Dario Miglioranza instead won the medium birds category. The taxidermy reconstruction of the Labrador duck, an animal declared extinct since 1878, is interesting. Nicola Bitto’s research work on the corncrake is also interesting: the young man from Treviso, a student at the University of Padua, won the scholarship in memory by Giuseppe Bepi Tormen (edited by the Venetian Faunists Association and the Province of Belluno) with specific research regarding the presence of this bird in Cansiglio and on the Belluno mountains.

The ecological importance for the forest was explained and information was given to simple seekers, to help them distinguish between edible species and species that must absolutely be avoided.
