The National Coordination of Local Authorities for peace and human rights has organized a meeting, for Friday 19 April 2024, at 09:00 in the Paul VI Hall of the Vatican City, with Pope Francis in which the students of the Don Milani secondary school will also participate of Montefredane.
“This initiative was welcomed by the municipal administration of Montefredane, as it intends to promote a day dedicated to information and communication of Peace, aimed at increasing awareness among young people, on responsibilities and in building peace”. Says the mayor of Montefredane, Ciro Aquino, who adds: “In a difficult time the municipal administration is particularly sensitive and widely concerned about the explosion of new wars and the persistent spread of violent conflicts, terrorism, injustices and inequalities in many parts of the world”.
On the same day, at 1.00 pm, the same students from the Montefredane secondary school will enter Palazzo Montecitorio for a guided tour of the Chamber of Deputies.
“I wanted to take the opportunity of the visit to the Holy Father and the presence in the Capital – explains the mayor – to continue with an appointment in the most significant places of Palazzo Montecitorio, such as the Chamber, the Transatlantic, the main representation rooms of the Chamber of the deputies, also to illustrate and inform our students of the main historical, artistic and institutional aspects of the Palace of “politics”. As far as I am concerned, I will never stop promoting initiatives aimed at younger people based on knowledge, culture and merit, in order to increase the sense of community and develop a strong civic conscience”, concludes Aquino.
