The Municipal Police Corps, following an internal staff meeting, dissociates itself from the statements made known to the local press and on social networks by the CSA union regarding an alleged state of discontent and conflict towards the Municipality of Portoferraio.
The CSA, which represents a small part of the Agents, has not received any mandate authorizing it to speak on behalf of all of them.
Specifically, it is the Corps’ will to reject any attempt at political exploitation of its members.
The Municipal Police acts, by its institutional duty, on the basis of full respect for the principle of total impartiality in the exercise of its functions and towards any administrative representation democratically elected by the population of Portoferraio.
At no point has this Command encountered abuses and illicit acts such as those cited in the aforementioned press release. Otherwise, as his duty, he would undoubtedly have forwarded the relevant documents to the competent authorities.
We express to the CSA the utmost respect for the trade union activity carried out, which is in itself absolutely legitimate and incontestable, but, at the same time, we invite it to exercise its function by formulating its requests and considerations in a correct and realistic manner.
This press release was subjected to the evaluation of the Assembly specifically called and approved by the qualified majority of the members of the Portoferraio Municipal Police Corps.
