A ban on approaching and a warning from the police commissioner of Lecce were not enough to make a man of Gallipoli from adopting persecutory attitudes towards the ex-partner. In just one day he approached the victim eight times, all recorded by the anti-virus device.stalker that she was equipped with. The police had it last night arrestedin execution of a personal precautionary measure against arrests house arrest, issued by the judge of preliminary investigations of the Court of Lecce.

The man is already known to the news because a few months ago, dressed as a ghost, he had thrown stones at the window of the woman’s house. On that occasion, the woman’s daughter, with a long outburst on social media, had raised attention to the dramatic situation experienced by her mother.

The approach ban violated

The provision arises from a request for aggravation made by the soldiers themselves following the increasingly pressing persecutory behavior which worsened in the moments immediately preceding the adoption of the precautionary measure of the approach ban. This measure limited his personal freedom and required the alleged stalker not to approach the places usually frequented by the woman from which he had to keep a safe distance. In the same circumstance, the anti-stalking device was also put into operation, consisting not only of the classic electronic bracelet, applied to the perpetrator of the crime and therefore recipient of the precautionary measure, but also of a receiver, in the shape of a mobile phone, supplied to the victim to be immediately notified of the ongoing violation, thus allowing the woman’s physical safety to be protected.

Thanks to this device, the police ascertained that the man, in a very short period of time and in any case in a single day, approached the victim 8 times. The alert signal from the receiver therefore reached the police operations center directly, which carried out the control. Rapid investigative activity made it possible to identify the man as the alleged person responsible for the violation of the “prohibition of approach”. Already in the past, he would also have been the recipient of a warning from the Police Commissioner of Lecce with which he would have been ordered to desist from carrying out persecutory acts against his ex-partner again. Already on that occasion the woman had courageously decided to report everything by entrusting herself to the police, thus avoiding serious and irreparable consequences.
