Caltanissetta – «The number of deaths at work is a real war bulletin not worthy of a civilized country». The provincial secretary of Uil Pa of the Caltanissetta fire brigade, Gaspare Goto, went straight to the heart of the problem, looking at the tragic accident in Suviana.
«An unprecedented accident and once again – he observed – the firefighters are called to intervene in prohibitive conditions in the midst of fire, water and rubble, putting their lives at risk… A deployment of forces that must not deceive, because there is a lot of propaganda, but in the end the system is based on our spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, ready to leave our families at any moment to go wherever our intervention is needed, perfectly aware that the lack of men, vehicles and equipment can put our safety and that of those we are going to help at serious risk”, says Gaspare Goto, turning his thoughts to the victims of this tragedy.
And, launching his blows, he bluntly remarked deeply “don’t call them accidents because as reiterated by the Uil general secretary, Pierpaolo Bombardieri, when there are no interventions on worker safety, they are murders”.
