12.04.2024 – 09.00 – In view of the imminent arrival of the summer season, a period of greatest risk for children forest firesThe Gorizia municipal civil protection group in its creation of the forest firefighting team, it organized joint training together with the Municipality of Gorizia Go Sinergy 2024. The initiative, which will take place Saturday 13 Aprilwill serve to become even more familiar with the equipment and to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the other bodies involved, i.e Regional Forestry Corps – Gorizia station, Provincial Fire Brigade command, Gorizia Green Cross And Regional civil protection.
The operational training will take place on Saturday morning in the municipal green area between Cordon and Monte Hermada streets. The operations will begin early in the morning and end by 1pm. Information leaflets aimed at the population will be distributed in the affected area tomorrow, it being understood that everything will be organized in such a way as to do not cause inconvenience.
It is also expected the application of prescribed fire: the scenarios, in order to be as realistic as possible, include small controlled fires in the green forest area. The shutdown operations will take place both from the groundwith the means of Civil Protection, Forestry Corps and Fire Brigade, both by air, through the intervention of the helicopter. Other operations include: technical assistance for a person (walk-on) was injured during the operation carried out by the Green Cross firefighters and health workers. The training will be used to test the system in its activation of the chain of command and joint operation, and will also be useful for operators and volunteers to gain greater experience and confidence with the reality of fire.
