Among the films that found space at CinemaCon 2024 there were also A Quiet Place: Day 1 And Twisterswhich will arrive at the end of June and mid-July respectively.
The prequel to A Quiet Place it has been described as a sequel in style Aliens compared to the original film, therefore “bigger, scarier and with a lot of action“.
The extended trailer shows the first meeting between Sam (Lupita Nyong’o) and Eric (Joseph Quinn), with whom he tries to organize a plan to leave the city. Unfortunately they realize they are trapped as the bridges are destroyed. They meet strangers, but a man is attacked by a monster and says: “It’s the end of days. No more people. No more New York“.
Once on stage to present the film, Lupita Nyong’o teased a story “of more terrifying and engaging proportions than ever before“.
Twisters: The description of the scenes shown
Universal Pictures showed some unfinished scenes from the film, specifically a sequence in which a rodeo is stopped by a giant tornado. Horses and bulls run away, a truck is sucked into the sky. Glen Powell organizes a team of storm chasers.
“Sometimes the old ways are better than the new ways” says Glen Powell. “It’s okay to be afraid… fear is why we do it. You don’t face fears, you indulge them“.
The entire cast and director were on site, explaining that they wanted to make a film as realistic and engaging as possible.
