Also South of Midnight showed itself much more clearly at the Xbox Games Showcase, with a real gameplay trailer which actually showed what this detail is about third person action adventure with a “blues” setting.

We had already intuited the general tone and atmosphere with the first computer graphics teaser trailer, but this new video is much clearer as regards the game mechanics real, given that it showed a nice insight into the gameplay.

It is precisely a third-person action adventure with a rather classic setting, but which clearly stands out for its particular setting and a rather unique style.

A magical action adventure

The video shows the protagonist dealing with some exploration sections and even a fight, before arriving at a spectacular sequence with a gigantic creature.

The reported exit period is 2025and in that year South of Midnight will arrive on Xbox released on day one on Game Pass, obviously.

The peculiarity of South of Midnight, as stated by Compulsion Games, is the fact that it is inspired by the culture and mythology of the southern USA, in particular the Louisiana area, with its widespread magic and the blues as a characterizing element.

The use of the idea of bayou as a mythical place in which reality and magic merge in an unexpected way is evident from what we see in the trailer, in which the protagonist immediately finds herself immersed in a decidedly strange world, between enormous creatures that emerge unexpectedly from the waters of the river and disturbing enemies to fight.
