WhatsApp: the new scam promises a lot of money

Every day many scams designed by cyber criminals to steal from users connected to the web come into circulation online of their sensitive data with bank access codes or passwords relating to their digital identity, all this with the aim of leading to the commission of numerous crimes such as theft from current account with all the savings contained or even worse, identity theft with damage to privacy that is, to say the least, incalculable.

The methods through which scammers target users are very varied, including SMS or phishing emailor even scam messages of various kinds designed to deceive the victim.

A new scam has recently come into circulation in Italy which is affecting all users without distinction via the most used messaging platform in the world. we are talking about WhatsApp which is used to send a fraudulent message to victims through which the latter will be scammed if they are not careful.

False earnings

As you can see from the image, the scammers begin with messages which, if followed up, will bring the promise of easy earnings by following the very simple instructions given by the scammers. However, the present instructions will not lead you to earn money but rather they will lead you to leak sensitive data concerning your person or your bank accounts, consequently allowing criminals to exploit all the information against you for a series of decidedly dangerous crimes.

The advice to follow is very simple, do not follow up on the message received, report all WhatsApp and block the number that sent it to you, generally the numbers in which this type of scam arrives are numbers with particular prefixes and not very common in Italy, do be careful and have a skeptical eye, the first step to protect yourself from online scams is to know and recognize them.
