Even without officially raising the curtain on the future generation of Nintendo consoles and limiting himself to specifying that Switch 2 will be revealed within this fiscal year, president Shuntaro Furukawa offered his shareholders clear clues about the name and ‘nature’ of the next gen platform of the house in Kyoto.
Coinciding with this new, important appointment with the investors of the Japanese gaming giant, Furukawa answered some of the questions posed to him by the shareholders and, in doing so, contributed to clarifying one of the most debated topics by the community in recent years: the next Nintendo console will it be an evolution of the current family of Switch systems or will it cut ties with the past by adopting a completely new design and gaming features?
Aware of the great importance of this question, and the consequent answer, Furukawa decided to clarify the doubts of investors (and obviously gamers) by explaining that “here, I think the most appropriate way to describe this console is to call it the ‘new Switch model’“.
