During the last meeting with shareholders, the President of Nintendo Corporation issued a note to clarify the presentation of the successor to the Switchwhich will occur during this fiscal year.
Shuntaro Furukawa confirms that Nintendo “will make an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch“during this fiscal year, or by March 31, 2025a statement that comes just over nine years after the announcement of the Switch in March 2015.
The CEO of Nintendo then announces that in June the company will broadcast a Direct dedicated to Nintendo Switch to reveal the lineup for the second half of 2024, however on this occasion there will be no mention of any kind to the new Nintendo console.
Nintendo does not seem to be in a hurry to present its new hardware, in the last quarter 1.96 million Switch, Lite and OLED consoles were sold, therefore still important numbers although decreasing compared to the past.
According to some rumors, Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in early 2025 and there are those who expect a launch scheduled for March next year. This being the case, a presentation in the summer seems unlikely, however we could hypothesize an announcement between October and November with more details arriving in January, two months after the console’s launch in stores. But it’s just a hypothesis, for the moment.
