Triumph spy photos: a new Street Triple coming?

In recent days, colleagues of Rideapart they pinched a prototype during some road tests, and by carefully observing the bike without frills or fairings you can notice several characteristics. From the photos, which you can see by clicking here, you can see how the tank mounted is the same as the one equipped on the current Street Triple range, with a teardrop shape and a capacity of 15 litres.

The frame appears to be one instead new aluminum double beam unit, which in the photos can be seen being combined with a nice boxed swingarm. It is not clear whether it will be equipped like this on the final model, but it is more likely that it is a pre-series unit used only temporarily on this prototype.

Based on the current Street Triple family, updated last year, the display on this prototype is mounted much lower, while the headlight is completely revolutionized. The headlight unit with two split lights, a trademark of the Street and a distinctive element since its birth, mysteriously disappears to make room for a circular unit. A risky choice for Triumph, which leaves us thinking about broader horizons, opening up a concrete possibility that it could be another model.

A neoclassical roadster? At the moment we have no official information on the matter, on a purely technical level this platform could also give light to the long-awaited and desired Daytona 765, but in the spy images the shape and positioning of the handlebars cannot be compared to those of a sports car.
