Huawei Pura 70 series debuts in Italy: there is the Kirin 9010, but no 5G

Huawei has listed the brand new ones Pure 70 first on the Global website, then on the portals of the main European countries, including also Italy. At the top of the homepage of the respective portals there is a section where the company announces the “Re-branding from Huawei P series to
Huawei Pura series”so as to inform even those who had missed the previous step, that of the presentation in China, of the macro news.

In the press release that the company sent us a few hours after the discovery of the marketing of the series in Italy regarding the name change it is read:

Huawei’s legendary P series has been a pioneer in smartphone photography in integrating aesthetics with smart photography, leading industry trends year after year. The pace of innovation never stops and now the P Series has been completely revamped and updated with the HUAWEI Pura Series. Pura, whose name derives from Purezza, explores unprecedented imaging wonders by stimulating a bold imagination and expands new horizons through new perspectives while riding the trends that fashion demands.

There are several differences compared to the Pura 70 announced two weeks ago in China. The most obvious is that the “training” is made up of 3 and not 4 models: the Pura 70 Pro+ which will evidently remain a Chinese exclusive is missing, the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Ultra arrive. Then there are 3 of a technical nature and one software: 5G is certainly missing from the Pura 70 global, 20 watt reverse wireless charging and satellite connectivity are also missing, and once again there is EMUI rather than HarmonyOS.

The SoC of the “European” Pura 70, which was missing from the Chinese technical data sheets and also from those on the global portal, is the Kirin 9010, the latest made by Huawei and SMIC with a 7 nanometer production process. However, the 5G module has been deactivated, so the Pura 70 series, probably to avoid problems due to the ban, in our area will not be able to connect to the latest generation networks but only the previous ones.

The company highlights the fact that Pura 70 Ultra integrates, “for the first time in the industry”one retractable main camera (here for more information).

Availability, prices and launch promo in Italy

THE Italian prices of the Pura 70 series:

• Pura 70 Ultra 16+512 GB: 1,499 euros
• Pura 70 Pro 12+512 GB: 1,199 euros
• Pura 70 12+256 GB: 999 euros.

Huawei does not talk about pre-orders but in fact the current phase cannot be defined in any other way: the Pura 70 can be purchased but will be shipped starting from 15-16 May.
