Google audio emojis, what are they

The much-rumored ones have appeared in the beta versions of the Android Phone app audio emojithat is to say reactions with sound and animation to select while making a normal call. The principle is the same as the classic emojis to be used in chats to express any type of feeling or state of mind: they closely resemble the effects used for example on the radio during live broadcastswith buttons already set up to sweeten something that has just been said in the studio.

Audio emojis appear as a semi-hidden option during a normal phone call, right from the Phone app menu which usually shows commands and options such as the ability to mute the microphone or activate the numeric keypad, for example if you are interacting with a contact center. To open the new menu, tap on the icon in the center of the screen e the six buttons with the relevant emoji will appear to click whenever you want. Below is the list of sounds spotted in beta version on board the Pixels:

  • Applause – thunderous applause with sound and animation.
  • Laugh – the smiley faces that laugh out loud to perhaps accompany a good joke.
  • Party – euphoric sound and animation, perhaps combined with a good idea or news.
  • Cry – a tuba sound for disappointment or sadness.
  • Poop – an unmistakable “exhaust” sound with the animation showing a chocolate ice cream squashed on the glass of the display.
  • Drumroll – classic sound taken from American live shows to accompany a joke, especially a sarcastic one.

Above is a video that shows the animations and plays the sounds of the six audio emojis spotted in the beta phase. It is difficult to predict when they will be able to be obtained at a public level, but the time seems ripe, so the advice is to keep your smartphone’s Android operating system updated. It’s possible that audio emoji could be expanded over time if public feedback proves to be positive.
