Serious trouble for BMW, with the German giant now finding itself forced to initiate a recall of massive dimensions.
Among the largest car manufacturers in the world is Germany, with the Teutonic nation boasting some of the best brands in the world. Among these is the BMW, with the Bavarian company having proven over the years not only to be one of the producers of some of the most powerful and elegant cars, but at the same time also among the most reliable.
For this reason, there are more and more people who can’t wait to get their hands on one of these cars, with BMW having become a status symbol over the course of its history. Among the best models designed by BMW there is for example the 4 Series, with this being the sports car par excellence.
Nowadays it can be admired in all its splendor with a length of 477 cm, a width of 185 cm and a height of 138 cm, which makes it approved for five people. A dream car that can be purchased with three different engines, with these varying from the classic petrol, up to Mild Hybrid petrol and diesel.
This car also reaches extraordinary peaks, so much so that the top of the range features a 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3000 and 510 horsepower. The peak speed it can reach is 250 km/h, with consumption being 9.8 liters per 100 km and with the starting cost being well 112,200 Euros. Unfortunately these cars also have problems and are forced into recalls.
BMW, problems in the United States: 2, 3 and 4 Series recalled
Once again NHTSA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has worked hard to find every possible problem with cars on American roads. This time it was BMWs that were hit, with the German company having made safety a strong point over the years, so the latest recall is truly fundamental.
The finding is linked to a series of models which concern some Series 2 models built between December 2013 and June 2014, the Series 3 which vary between November 2013 and September 2014 and finally some top models of the Series 4, including the Gran Coupé in own variant that was born between 17 June and 9 July 2014.
Overall this recall includes a total of dthe 5761 vehicles which are present on American territory and which present an airbag problem. In fact, this shows itself with a problem inside the inflator, with this incorrect production which risks creating wear internally and in doing so can cause an irregularity in operation.
There could in fact be a leak of gas that is present inside the airbag, with these, once leaked, thus resulting in only a partial inflation of the airbag, effectively making its use useless. This defect can cause significant damage to the driver, for this reason between 24 and 14 June 2024, the BMW will contact all vehicle owners who are interested.
