A new tea room in the heart of Mestre

The experience of the “Poke” in via Poerio 21 in the heart of Mestre, which recently ended, leaves room for a new project. This is an “almond-eyed” business that will take its place and will not be the classic Chinese restaurant. «We are working on an innovative tea room – explained the Chinese entrepreneur who wanted the business, thirty-year-old Lea Dandan – which will stand out from the typical oriental street food and bubble tea and wants to spread the age-old culture of tea starting from ‘imperial style furnishings’.

An investment of around 150-200 thousand euros with the aim of raising, Lea and her husband explain, the quality of the premises in the area and also to repopulate it because various businesses with the “for sale” and “for rent” announcement in the shop window nearby they risk never leaving again, and the void then creates spaces of darkness and decay. The walls of the shop were rented by the Chinese owners, who have never opened anything of the kind in the area, nor seen anything of the kind started by their compatriots.

The tea room they imagine today is a work in “progress” – for which they are creating the logo together with the designers who take care of the interiors – it will be called “See tea” and will see the light before the end of the summer, between August and September . Lea and her husband already have telephone accessories shops in Mirano and Spinea. But now Lea, they said, is determined to relive the experience of her family of origin, who started this type of business in China a long time ago.

The tea may be on the go but the product will differ from “Boba”, an oriental “take away” drink made from tea, milk and tapioca, which has spread throughout the world since the 1980s. In this case the aim is to focus on the quality and variety of the product, especially typically Chinese green and red tea, prepared with fresh fruit in the traditional way and with a particular treatment of the leaves to maintain the aroma. The style of the venue follows, without completely reproducing it, that of the “Chagee” brand (photo) with the mission of «reviving and reintroducing Chinese tea culture to the world, through a modern touch and a bar concept designed to be comfortable and relaxing ».
