Fallout 4 he received his update next gen only for a few hours but there are already many controversies resulting from the update, especially on the front PC where this seems to have led more problems than benefitsaccording to several reports.

It is a download huge, 14.4 GB, but which does not seem to have satisfied players too much, especially on the Windows platform, given that this reveals major problems with the numerous mods released in recent years for the game and does not seem to bring great technical benefits, among resolution, frame-rate and general graphic quality.

In this case, as reported by PC Gamer, the update introduces problems in the saves for those who have used it mod in Fallout 4, while some mods not found in the Creation Club simply don’t work, including many that are extremely popular in the community at this point.

Better on console, but there is no shortage of problems there too

No significant improvements in quality were detected graphicswhich is substantially identical to before the introduction of the patch, at least according to various testimonies, furthermore the support for ultrawide screens currently presents a problem with the display of the interface.

These are problems that specifically concern the PC version, the management of which is actually more complex than the console version. In fact, Fallout 4 on Windows could already count on one more advanced technical basewith support for higher resolutions and higher frame-rates, being much more scalable across the various possible configurations.

Considering a decade of support from mods and various additions that have built significantly different gaming experiences, it was obvious that an update on this platform would have more limited and complex results than on consoles.

On PS5 and Xbox Series the situation seems better, at least the technical differences are more visible in terms of increases in resolution and frame-rate.

On Xbox, however, there seems to be a bugs relating to the Graphics Quality mode, which apparently would not work, at least according to some testimonies, making the game run only in Performance mode. Furthermore, even here the differences would be less evident thanks to the great work done previously simply by the advanced backward compatibility on Fallout 4.

On PS5 the situation seems smoother, although here too there has been no shortage of problems, such as the impossibility of carrying out the free update for those who own Fallout 4 through PlayStation Plus, which should have been resolved in the meantime.
