Digital Eclipse announced the release date official of Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord: May 23, 2024. The game is already available in early access for PC from September 15, 2023, but on the indicated date it will also become purchasable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
A classic among classics
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is the 3D remake of one of the founding games of the computer role-playing game genre, as well as of Japanese role-playing games. The original was released in 1981 for the Apple II by Sir-Tech.
The months spent in early access on PC have served Digital Eclipse to collect user comments and introduce various improvements. The game remains built on the original code for Apple IIbut now incorporates more modern graphics, improved party management, some additional options for exploration, spell casting and combat.
